More ways to help out SIA

Hi Jessica,

Thanks so much for offering to put this out for your parents! We'd love to have them join us. Feel free to pass out my email as the contact, and I can put them in touch with the teacher that is coordinating the site. We could specifically use some help at our Oak Island site, as this is the one that we've had the least volunteers for.

Meadowscaping Field Study (at SIA)

Wed. Dec. 188:45 am-12:30 pm*
*These times have the potential to be switched to the afternoon, but will most likely be in the mornings. Also, if a parent needed to be back a little earlier than 12:15, we could probably make that happen.

Math Tutoring
Every day except Monday, from 8:45-9:30 in the morning. Even if you can only make it once a week, or once every other week, we'd love to have you! Expertise in math is not a requirement! We just need some patient, helpful, kind adults for some one-on-one math work (we will provide all the materials!).

This Friday

Hello All!

As you probably heard, I was sick Monday and Tuesday this week. I’m not at 100% but I am better. Thank you for your patience as I tried to answer e-mails in my muddled state.

Two things are due this week; Book Orders, and leaves! Book orders are due by Friday as I will be sending the money out by mail this Friday. Please try to have your order in by Friday. Our leaf collection is also due this Friday. I say this because I am hearing rumors of the weather turning our lovely leaves into mud. So let’s try to get as many as we can by Friday. If the the weather holds, please continue to bring in as many as you can. We won’t start using them until later, but it’s best if we can get them before they are mush. We are looking for flat, dry, clean leaves to use.

Thank you so much for all your help!

Cheers,
Mrs. Sipp

Monday is Pajama Day

Also!!

Monday is pajama day. We are celebrating our collection of 500 Sauvie Stars by coming to school in our pajamas. Don't forget your regular shoes though, we would be so sad to ruin a pair of bunny slippers during our excitement at recess.

Leaf Collecting Time

Calling all leaf collectors!

It’s that time of year when none of us can resist picking up the beautiful rainbow of leaves on the ground. You’re in luck! We are going to be in need of dry, flat, clean leaves in our classroom. We are going to read the book Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert. After we will be making our own leaf images by cutting/gluing/arranging all the collected leaves. If you know the names of the leaves you bring in, that is fantastic too! Please make sure to keep your special leaves at home because the ones that come to school will be shared as a class. We are going to have so much fun celebrating the fall in this unique way!!

Pumpkin Patch!

Hello All,

Tomorrow's the big day! We get to go to the pumpkin patch, pick out a pumpkin no bigger than our heads, and see all the fun things at a pumpkin patch.

PLEASE REMEMBER: It's muddy and wet, so please wear boots (shoes that can get dirty) and your rain coat. An extra change of shoes and clothes in your backpack won't hurt either.

Tomorrow will be fantastic! We are all so excited! We will be boarding the bus by 8:50, so please arrive early to let your child get ready for their day.

Cheers!

Plastic Bags

Hello All!

In preparation for our pumpkin patch trip we will need to collect some plastic bags. They will help us carry our pumpkins home with minimal ick on us. If you have a collection of plastic grocery bags under your sink that you wouldn't mind parting with we'd really love them. Thanks!

Upcoming Pumpkin Patch Trip

Hello Everyone!

We have a lot coming up, as we always do in kindergarten. Next week we are going to the pumpkin patch as a class. We were so excited to talk about it at circle time that we nearly couldn't calm ourselves down. If you are still wanting to join us on our adventure, please e-mail me again to let me know that this Wednesday the 9th you are free. I know plans change all the time, so even if you've already said you are interested last month please confirm you are available. Can you believe October 9th is nearly upon us? I'll send an e-mail in the morning as a reminder too.

Not related to our pumpkin trip, the 10th of October is picture day!! Huzzah! Please check your child's backpack for the order form.
