report cards and talent show

Hello kindergarten families,

First semester report cards came home in the mail this weekend and, as always, we are looking for ways to make our report card communication more efficient and helpful to you. If you wouldn't mind taking a few minutes to respond to this email by telling us which aspects (comment boxes, rubrics, Characteristics of a Successful Learner, etc.) of the report card are the most beneficial to you as a parent, we'd really appreciate it!

Thanks for all that you do!

P.S. If any of your children wish to participate in the talent show that is fast approaching they need to audition with me ASAP. They need a teacher permission slip and a parent permission slip in order to preform. They can audition during choosing time or their recess time. If they require music for their talent please send a CD or thumb drive with the music on it. Let's get this done by Friday so your kiddo has all the time they need to feel prepared and successful. The talent show is next Friday, February 27th.

Love Week

It sure has been busy! Wowza!

Here is a quick peek at the types of work we are doing during our week of love.

Here we are cutting out and counting our hearts. We are working on our fine motor skills and problem solving skills.

Here we are learning not to make "broken hearts" by making sure that when we fold our paper we hold it like a book. Once it opens the same way a book does we get to draw our best "2" and cut it out. This tests us on our book orientation, writing skills, cutting skills, and direction following.

The complexity of this math job could be changed to the needs of each child. We all worked on our math words, and our counting skills, but some of us were working on more complex addition.
