Pollination Madness!

Wow! What a week! We finished our pollinator books, we had a field trip, we had a Bee Lady (Pam Vetsch) come and visit, we've watched our garden grow... Can kindergarten get any more fun?! Check out what's been buzzing in kindergarten below (with a special thanks to all who provided pictures).

First, we finally got our pollinator books back and had a chance to read them to our friends.

Then we got to read them to our 5th grade buddies.

Check out these two beautiful examples... we even got a nonfiction author award for such a great job!

On Wednesday we went to Sauvie Island Center to get some more hands on learning about pollination! Thanks to all who could make it and help out!

Then on Friday Pam Vetch (The Bee Lady) came to visit our room. She read us a book about a bee keeper, and then we got to pretend to be bees and farmers.

Here are our farmers at their farms awaiting the bees. They needed to make a tally mark for every bee that visited their farm.

This is an example of a "bee" the other students held, and the "pollen" (chalk) in the farm. Look at how many bees visited!

She even brought us honey for all or hard work as bees and farmers. It's going home in backpacks today along with a surprise for Sunday! "Bee" on the lookout tonight!
