What a wonderful few weeks being back!
Mr. Larry helped up put manure in our garden bed and rototill it. Then he helped us plant peas in the soil! Some of us made signs to warn away people who might tromp through our garden bed. We were so excited that we wrote poems about soil too.
This tied in nicely with our pollinator unit. We did a pollinator poem, and made a class pollinator book. Normally our field trip would be at the end of our pollinator unit, but with my bereavement leave timing got wonky. At the Sauvie Island Center we explored more with pollinators, plant life cycles, and planted seedlings. It was quite the trip!
Recently we painted HUGE flowers in the hall. This helped us write flower poems in the hall too. We are making a spring garden the hall… there are more projects coming up so keep an eye out! On the other side we will hang up our earth day project with writing and symmetry. Ask your student and stop by to see it!
Coming up we are going to finish our hall pollinator art, and finish our poetry book. Soon we will be writing our very own pollinator book! Shhhh! We are also working on adding and word problems in math. Whew! We are busy bees in kindergarten.
